Rory Hanrahan is a Creative Director based in NYC. After studying graphic design at Central St. Martin’s Art School in London, he worked at Aboud Creative on the iconic Paul Smith brand. Rory moved to New York to attended NYU’s Graduate Film Program. Over the last few years Rory has married his design sensibilities and his love of storytelling in unique commercial projects.
He created the TBS Dept. of Humor Analysis with John Cleese in 2006 with Mother New York. The campaign won One Show & Cannes awards across web, TV and print categories.
Rory and creative partner Dave Clark signed up with San Fransisco’s digital shop Mekanism as directors/ creative directors in 2008. Rory and Dave set up Mekanism NY and created/directed work for Microsoft, Ebay, CNN, Nickelodeon and EA Games.
Rory went on to take the CD role for the global Revlon account - shooting print and film campaigns with Mario Testino, Jake Nava, Kathryn Bigelow & Sam Mendes amongst others. A wide range of tones and interests are demonstrated in his commercial works spanning from beauty & fashion to physical comedy.
